PRESS RELEASE: Tracking Innovations, Inc.:Thinking Inside The Box
While you slept, the shipping industry changed overnight. Technological guru, former Navy submariner, bleeding-edge aficionado, and corporate executive at Tracking Innovations, Inc., Randy Kraft, has done it again; this time he’s thought inside the box and invented a gizmo for the logistics industry that can not only stop companies from losing millions of dollars from damaged goods, shipments seemingly gone missing, or high-value cargo stolen en route, but also, ultimately, save lives.
By providing state-of-the-art real time tracking, this patent-pending gadget tells the shipper (and the client) exactly where a product is at all times and if the air quality in the packaging has changed at all to alter the integrity of the shipment. So whether it’s the Shroud of Turin being shipped from the Cathedral of St. John Baptist in Turin, Italy, a refrigerated truckload of iceberg lettuce from Steinbeck’s hometown in Salinas bound for a bistro in Maine, or even the stealth transport of multi-millions in military materials, this active Radio Frequency IDentification (aRFID) hardware provides visibility from the millisecond the freight is literally tagged with the device inside the actual packaging.
Utilizing a Global Position System receiver, a GPRS cellular transceiver, a Wi-Fi transceiver, and a satellite transceiver, combined with Microsoft .NET software, Kraft’s invention captures the exact location of the freight at every point through its ventures – whether locally, nationally, or globally. It’s a complete, self-contained Real Time Tracking System that delivers true end-to-end, automated in-transit freight visibility – regardless of the carrier. The aRFID tags can monitor temperature, humidity, and/or shock and vibration.
Kraft’s invention, marketed and sold through Tracking Innovations, Inc. where he is the CIO, provides best practices for logistics professionals ever-seeking 21st-century solutions to their supply chain challenges. Orchestrating the promotion and marketing of Kraft’s invention is Lori Alf, CEO at Tracking Innovations. Alf retained The Durango Group, a world class global consulting organization who employs retired military officials who have led major military commands and civilian federal organizations, to execute the strategic planning and marketing of the product. At the helm of this project is Lt Gen (Ret) Robert D. Bishop Jr., a United State Air Force Senior Mentor instructing Air Force and Army senior leaders on Command and Control of Air and Space. Lt Gen Bishop recently held the position of Commander, 3rd Air Force, at Ramstein Air Base in Germany where his responsibilities encompassed the planning, deploying, employing, sustaining and redeploying of Air Forces personnel.
In a spring 2009 press release, Lori stated, “We’re thrilled to have Lt Gen Bishop join our team. His exemplary background in mobility and systems management, along with understanding of government freight regulations are an enormous asset to the company. He’s the perfect person to help launch this new venture.”
The potential use of this corporation’s product is limitless not only in the public and private sectors, but also for military operations. Michael Meldon, COO of The Durango Group recently shared, “The Durango Group is delighted to be working with a company as innovative as Tracking Innovations. Their technology will be able to help war fighters instantly identify and monitor the condition and status of valuable inventory anywhere in the world.” Being able to track the location and physical condition of both perishable and non-perishable “things” en route will save dollars, time, and, perhaps most profoundly, lives.
